Bittersweet End.

She wore long brown hair and quirky clothes

She loved the fact wherever she’d go

Would be overlooked by guys she didn’t know

But that Summer’s evening in Mid-July

Amongst the arseholes telling lies

She saw her genuine guy

Well his name was carl and behind that smile

Saw humour, youth and a quirky style

And she figured she’d give him her time for a while

Now 10 years later with wedding bells,

Their family surround them to wish them well

And the life for two were on their way

“A little more love in a little less time and I’ll be fine

Cos my insecurities they are just, stacking up high

And the world I knew was with you

Still when I make to eat, I make for two”

Past the time when technology outgrew them

Another life was born unto them

Years they spent, teaching, learning

Well she grew character, and now they’re yearning

With crosswords on the kitchen table

Their love need no label

They’d just, rest where they lay

Pick their brains till the day

And on Carl’s last night, he had no worries no frights

He’d just confide in her heart

Until day came they’d part

Now his absence just leaves silence

And his silence just leaves tears

She’ll sit by that kitchen table

Listing all her fears

“A little more love in a little less time and I’ll be fine

Cos my insecurities they are just, stacking up high

And the world I knew was with you

Still when I make to eat, I make for two

It’s the ones that surround us with thoughts and opinions that inspire

Will broaden our minds and only take us higher

We got what we loved so damn right, we loved what we got

It’s my favourite bittersweet end.”
